Born: June 2nd, 1957
EDUCATION:
1975: Graduated from high school with honors and accepted to the Financial Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
1980: : Graduated with a degree in Economics.
BASKETBALL CAREER:
1971-1985: A key player of "Iraklis" Thessaloniki Basketball Club. The team was a frequent participant in the National Championships.
1973-1976: Member of the National Cadet and Junior teams and Head of the Youth Basketball teams with over 70 participations in European and Balkan championships.
1976-1985: 105 participations with the national team of Greece in Balkan Championships, Pan-European Qualifiers, European Championships and Pre-Olympic Tournaments.
1979: Won First place at the Balkan Games and first place at the Mediterranean Games with the Greek National Basketball team.
1980-1982: Served the mandatory military service in the Greek Air Force and participated with the Air Force team in Armed Forces Tournament. He was also member of the Armed Forces National Team participating in two World Military Championships.
1982: Voted by Greek coaches as one of three athletes who would like to have in their team (featured in a widely distributed sports magazine).
1985-1990: Transferred to "PAOK" Thessaloniki Basketball Club (the second most expensive transfer in Greece at the time) participating in all league and cup finals and many European competitions.
1991-1992: Transferred to "Democritus" Thessaloniki Basketball Club in Division II.
1993-2000: General Manager of "Iraklis" Thessaloniki Basketball Club. During this time the team participated in two Greek Cup finals, European Cup Final Fours and finished third in the overall Greek club rating, ensuring a place in the Euro league.
1997-σήμερα: Organizes and directs co-ed summer basketball camp and tournaments for children 8-18 years old.
2006-2011: Member of the Board of Thessaloniki's Basketball Veterans Association, the largest association in Greece with over 400 members, participating also as a player in three Pan-European Veteran Tournaments and three Veteran World Championships.
2010: Second place at the Pan-European Veteran Tournament in Croatia (from a total of 50 teams)
2012: Elected vice president of the Board of Thessaloniki's Basketball Veterans Association. The association will organize the 2013 Summer Veteran World Championship in Thessaloniki, Greece. The event is expected to involve 200 teams and 500 games in the ten-day period.
1979-today: An avid world traveler, he has visited the U.S. several times for competitions and scouting. He has experience working with almost all the Greek Basketball coaches, as well as many from Yugoslavia and the U.S.
PERSONAL:
1978: Appointed to the Commercial Bank and having worked in all departments of the company becomes a lending analyst for the Regional Administration of Northern Greece.
2001-present: Private Financial Advisor.
2004-present: Co-owner of a traditional restaurant in Athens.
He has two children, Anastasios and Irene. Anastasios studied Economics and lives in New Hampshire, USA. Irene studied engineering and lives in Thessaloniki, Greece.
